"melimeli": the Project

National Interprofessional Organization of Honey and Other Bee Products (Organization) has entitled the Hellenic Foreign Trade Board (HEPO) to carry out the project: “ACTIONS OF INFORMATION AND PROMOTION OF HONEY IN THE INTERNAL MARKET”, the basic parameters of which are:
Targets
• Increase consumers’ level of awareness of the varieties, organoleptic properties and production conditions of European honey of European origin
• Help consumers understand honey labeling and encourage them to consume qualitative honey, with transparent traceability.
• Encouragement and support of producers to improve labeling, conforming to EC Regulations
• Protection against competitive products from third countries with the adoption of labels that function as a shield and identify its origin and
• Promotion and presentation of the product in the target countries of the Project, increasing thus the consumption of European quality honey, and, consequently, of Greek honey, too.

Target Groups
• Consumers, mainly from 20 to 40 years old.
• Elderly and children
• Opinion leaders (journalists – field professionals, etc)
